Service Agreement

FEES & RETURNS All service orders are subject to a minimum $50 service fee once it reaches a technician's bench regardless of the state of repair or outcome of the diagnosis. All onsite service calls are billed at a one hour minimum billed at $150 per hour. All in shop services including remote support is billed at $150 per hour billable by the quarter hour. Certain flat fees may apply to onsite and offsite work and will be disclosed prior to work commencement. All part purchases are final and cannot be returned. All fees will be discussed with the client prior to initiating repairs after diagnosis onsite or in shop. DATA Customer is responsible for data backup before repair or service. Neighborhood Computers is not responsible for data loss for any reason including: if event of a computer failure while in service and/or if the hard drive is formatted to repair the operating system. SOFTWARE Neighborhood Computers supports all major operating systems including Mac OSX, Microsoft Windows, and Linux. Customer is responsible for determining application compatibility with any operating system they have enlisted Neighborhood Computers to install, upgrade, or repair. Neighborhood Computers does not support software without a software warranty or service plan. Customer is responsible for keeping software warranties up to date. SECURITY Customer is responsible for ensuring passwords are saved and/or remembered in order to restore computer settings including email accounts, programs or applications. Customer is responsible for updating definitions to antivirus software and applying security patches to operating system after completion of repair. Neighborhood Computers is not responsible for viral infections of the system or any security compromises to the unit, including compromises due to weak passwords after the date of repair. EQUIPMENT Neighborhood Computers is not responsible for equipment left in shop for over 60 days from the time of the unit’s entry into service, regardless of the state of repair. Neighborhood Computers is not responsible for notifying you, the customer, in the event your equipment is being disposed of when said equipment has been left for over 90 days. All equipment must be picked up within 30 days of completion or a $25 per month fee will be added to the cost of the original invoice. TIMEFRAME All in-shop repairs are diagnosed by the order in which they come in. When the service order is stared, diagnostic takes 24-48 hours for minor repairs and up to 5 days for advanced repairs depending on the shop workload and inventory. PAYMENTS In shop and on site repairs require payment after the service has been rendered. All fees will be discussed with the client prior to work commencement.
